Artist Bio
Jeff Scott Soto is one of nowadays rock icons. He's definitely THE frontman in melodic rock and in addition to his entertaining abilities, he definitely knows how to sing. Blending such diverse influences as Glenn Hughes, Ronnie James Dio, Steve Perry, Prince, Freddy Mercury and Seal, he can actually sing everything, from funk and R & B to melodic rock and heavy metal.

He started his career in 1984 with Swedish guitar-god Yngwie Malmsteen just 1 year after his high school graduation. At the ripe young age of 18, Jeff recorded the only 2 vocal songs on Yngwie's debut, “Rising Force” and only a few months later, they recorded the follow up, “Marching Out”. Jeff moved on from Yngwie & recorded with many projects & bands through the years, honing & perfecting his melodic style. From Eyes, Takara, Talisman, Axel Rudi Pell, Kuni & many, many appearances providing background vocals on many major releases throughout the 80's & 90's, Jeff realized it was time to branch out & try his hand at a solo album in 1994, “Love Parade”, which he produced, co-wrote & performed nearly all instruments himself.

With a discography & track record 3 & 4 times larger than some of the biggest artists in the world, Jeff's resume extends through many soundtracks, including the movies “Rock Star” & “Queen Of The Damned”, albums, tours & even a disco band thrown in for good measure, Jeff has finally returned to doing what he does best and has re-introduced his career as a solo artist with the album, “Prism” which gained him an amazing critical and fan acclaim.
Jeff has also criss-crossed Europe with a tour which has also brought him to the very successful appearance at the GODS festival in the UK which was captured for a live cd and DVD release that hit the market in June 2003.

Since then, Jeff did not sit enjoying the success of the releases, but constantly toured and supported his releases with countless interviews and promotional activities. During NAMM 03 he met Journey guitar player, Neal Schon and he started a new band with him together with Deen Castronovo (Journey) on drums and Marco Mendoza (Whitesnake) on bass.

Jeff also started to write with Neal and the first result can be hear on this mini cd. “Believe In Me”, taken from the forthcoming album “Lost In The Translation” – scheduled for release in September 04, is am amazing melodic rock up-tempo which is a total must for all the Journey-addicted melodic rock fans. As a special bonus, the Ep also features a bunch of non album tracks written and performed by Jeff together with his Swedish bandmate Jamie Borger (Talisman drummer) and guitar player Goran Elmquist, except “Still Be Lowing You” was written by Jeff and former Bad English and Babys bass player Ricky Phillips (now with Styx) and “Lonely Shade of Blue” written and performed with his old mate George Bernhardt.

As a special bonus, the video for the track “Believe In Me” is added to witness the full-frontal visual attack that Soto has as a performer!
Don't miss it !
